How To Avoid Stress This Christmas

70 days, yes just 70 days until Christmas! It's seems like yesterday it was Easter, or the beginning of the school year.

I have to admit, this year I am a little more organised (yesterday I bought the plates and napkins, see I'm onto Christmas already!). But what really makes Christmas less stressful, especially in the lead-up, is getting all those gifts organised now. Take advantage of early pre-Christmas sales and lay-by;  buy and tuck away all those gifts bit by bit. Then, when you're ready, have wrapping sessions and hide them. Simple!
Do this and the week leading up to Christmas will be one of relaxation for you - no running around like crazy trying to find that perfect gift while under pressure.  

Of course there's a whole lot more about Christmas festivities than just gifts, like food, but I'll leave that post to someone who is an expert at creating menus for Christmas day :D

Spreading the LOVE ♥

A customer recently requested a custom made baby blanket, and of course we were more than happy to oblige (if you haven't heard, we LOVE custom orders!).

Her little girl LOVES hearts. So she asked if she could have a blanket with hearts on it, ribbons-all-around in pink colours.

We fell in love with this order immediately (who doesn't LOVE hearts in pink?!)  

So, after some designing, we made this gorgeous blanket!

And this is what Jaya's mum says:

A personal review

So, I see there are a lot of blogs where people get sent goods from companies, for them to try and test and write about it on their blog. This is not one of those blogs. This is a business blog, so you can know all the behind-the-scenes gossip, and of course store news.

However I recently made a purchase that I would like to share my experience about with you. A few months ago I subscribed to Joli Natural Skincare newsletter, so I could know more about the company, and also because when you sign up you get a free product sample (hello, who doesn't like a free sample?!). I've been getting the newsletter regularly since and I have to say it's full of interesting information, special offers and even funnies to brighten my day. 
Let's talk free sample though. You can choose which free sample you'd like, I chose the Fluffy Lime Eye Cream. In the pack I also received brochures and information about their products, and about companies to be aware of who test on animals. All very interesting. I tried the eye cream and it was wonderful. I didn't have to use much; it smoothed on the delicate eye area and was fluffy. It kept that area well moisturised.

I entered their colouring competition (yes, for adults too! Joli makes adult colouring books too!). My prize was one of their Moisturising Lip Balms, a colouring book and a $15 gift voucher to use in their store. Winning! 
The lip balm is incredible. I got to choose my own combination - so I chose a Pink colour and Lolly Musk flavour - yum. It's super moisturising, which is what you want in cold winter weather (and in hot summers too I would imagine).

After all the good experience I had had with Joli, I was ready to spend my $15 gift voucher and then some. So I ordered the Whipped Cream Facial Moisturiser; Massage Oil and Fluffy Lime Eye Cream.

Overall I was really happy with everything. The packaging was what-you-see-is-what-you-get (no heavy lids or indented bottoms), simple and light - all product. With the facial moisturiser I soon learned I only needed half the amount that I would normally use of an international company's moisturiser (happy), and it thoroughly moisturises my skin. I've already spoken about the lip balm (awesome) and the eye cream (amazingly fluffy). The massage oil is perfectly scented and a great texture - we love it. 

One of the other great things about Joli is it's all natural - no harsh chemicals that seep into your blood stream - you can understand the labels - with ingredients like Apricot Kernal Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Lime Essential Oil etc. 

I happily give Joli Natural Skincare five stars!

The teenager request

Our teenager decided that last school holidays she would make over her bed - from the sheets, doona cover to making a bedhead and adding canopy curtains. She was determined to give it a teen style that she would love. She did achieve her goal, as you can see:

She loves the look of lots of pillows and cushions. So she asked if we could make her a cushion with a large peace sign on it. So we did! She loved it. 
Since this photo she has added star fairy lights and is currently working on knitting a blue smaller cushion cover to add another cushion to the set. You have to love her design flair.
